What I Wore – My Sisters Graduation

It’s graduation season and I’m blessed to be a part of it. Last year in June I was graduating and it felt good to be on the other side watching all the magic happen with my sister. Also, have you noticed how graduation ceremonies actually make you want to go back to school to. I can’t really describe the feeling of graduating (or even watching it) but it’s beautiful on both ends. I wish the media would show this in the news but that’s a topic for another day.

First of all; my new motto is “I would rather not sleep than to go anywhere important and risk being asked ‘who made that?’ and the answer not be; ‘I did'”. Thankfully I went through a period last year where I made a lot of clothes and didn’t really go out much. As the Universe would have it, the occasions are flooding in this year and I am more than prepared.

Here’s what I wore to my sister’s graduation:

I wanted a simple but bright outfit to celebrate my sister and here’s what I put together.

I made the yellow frill top with stretch cotton fabric. Even though its not tight fitting, I chose the fabric so that I can wear it in Summer (it lets heat escape easily so that you’re not all sweaty) and Winter days (it also produces heat to keep you warm). The skirt is a classic check, pencil skirt that’s comfortable and allows movement.

To my sister Grace, I am so proud of you baby girl.

I hope you all your dreams and hearts desires come true. I love you!
