A Trip Down Moz Lane

This trip was initially meant to be a group travel but it ended up being a trip for 4 *thank goodness*. For me, a trip for four meant that it would be a peaceful, quiet road trip and everyone’s needs would be easily catered for.  At 4am on a Friday morning, we did our intro’s, packed our bags in the car and we were up and ready to go.

On the road

The roadtrip started out quietly, we listened to the radio until sunrise. It was only after the sunrise that the conversations begun. The 3 people I was travelling with were no …

POWER Experience with Kgoshigadi Rangata

Maaaaaan… What a journey, it’s finally hitting me that we are here. Back on radio, weekly.

The Announcement

Just before the announcement I let it go because we had been praying about this. I had made peace with staying in my lane, standing in for other presenters, and doing traffic bulletins whenever they needed me. One afternoon I was minding my own business, busy with another campaign and I was called into a meeting to discuss something. After months of nagging my manager to try me out with a show during the day, she sat me down and said; there’s an opportunity that …

My First Brazilian Wax

So, I had a genius idea to get a wax. I wanted to try something new cause shaving every week was no longer appealing to me. I told my boyfriend that I’m thinking of getting a wax treatment. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Baby, I’m thinking of waxing.

Him: Baby that is painful…

M: I have tattoo’s surely it can’t be worse than that.

H: Baby, waxing is painful!

M: I’m sure I’ll be fine baby

H: *shrugs*

The day finally came and he wished me well. Dramatic much…

16 May 2022, a day I will never forget

Anyway… I arrived at …

My Blue Train Experience

The journey started as early as 06:30 in the morning at a mutual meeting place for a meet and greet with clients we were going with to the Blue Train experience. Our Blue Train trip was the Cape Town to Pretoria route, which meant we would head to Cape Town early in the morning. All of us spoke about the dress code and chuckled about how we would enjoy not having network for a few days. I had an energy drink that I thought would keep me up throughout the flight, but I woke up in Cape Town and the journey officially began.

A Love Note to my Granmama

It’s taken me a while to release this blog, partially because of the disbelief. But also because it would the final goodbye. I’ve spent the past six months hoping I’d call for my baby girl. Heck, I still buy airtime to call her, and then I remember… I can’t call her on a physical phone anymore. Now I get to practise what she was lowkey preparing me for…

About a week before, I just felt like shit! I had walked out of a hectic week and I wanted nothing to do with anything or anyone but a friend insisted on coming through with wine to …

Kgoshigadi Says: The Radio Edition

Welcome to the latest addition to Ke Kgoshigadi called #KgoshigadiSays; a vlog that captures a number of interesting topics. We started #KgoshigadiSays with What’s Good, the things that caught my attention on YouTube, a Book Review, and things to get up to during the long weekend. This was a fun way to introduce this concept and they did way better than we anticipated. Then the big one was the live chats. I say big because there about two to three takes with the pre-recorded vlogs and with the live chats, it means that there’s only one take with an audience watching …

The 5 AM Club

So I recently read the 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma, after years of resisting it. In January 2021, I saw the book again after a lunch date with a loved one and I finally got it. The timing seemed perfect as well, I had a challenge getting back to waking up early and my life seemed to be spiraling out of control with unhealthy habits I adapted. After reading this book, I remembered why I am a Robin Sharma fan, here’s a quick review.

The Likes

Our mothers and grandmothers were right about waking up early to get things done, it took this …

My Skin Journey

Part of the modern-day #SelfCare is face masks, (Afro) wash day, and long bubble baths. Who would’ve thought that one of those would lead me here… Talking about my skin journey.

So I’ve had “normal” skin challenges for a while. By normal I mean the odd breakouts that come and go. Nothing I couldn’t manage with over the counter treatment, my favourite “treatment” is drinking a lot of water. For years it seemed to work, up to a certain point. Last year, 2020, my skin suddenly showed me flames. The first flame came when I developed pimples that left dark marks, this time the …

I Woke Up in the North-West

Sunday evening, I had a show from 10 pm to 2 am on the 13th of December. It was the first show of the festive season on POWER 98.7, there was so much pressure to set the tone and be on my A-Game. But Kgoshigadi being Kgoshigadi, I didn’t sleep throughout the day. Excitement coupled with gophapha! We nailed it, according to my boss it didn’t sound like I hadn’t slept. After the show, I went to my friend’s place and slept in the car. About an hour into my nap, I woke up at a tollgate leaving Gauteng and into the North-West Province.

New Record Set By McDonald’s SA

McDonald’s SA celebrated their 25 years with a drive-thru record attempt. I cracked an invite through a friend who sold it to me as a champagne breakfast and of course, I would be there but to my delight, there were supercars everywhere.

I very low key love supercars, and I’m still aware of the latest releases; the Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, McLaren’s, Aston Martins. It’s been a while since I read a car …
