I Saw Ed Sheeran – Live

I wasn’t planning to write about this one but that would be selfish of me right…

Firstly, seeing the most popular and cutest Ginger in the world was a pipe dream because the Johannesburg tickets sold out within hours of going on sale. I made peace with not seeing him but the big boss at work ran a competition; asked a few questions and then offered a booster entry if you recorded a video of yourself doing something with Ed Sheeran’s songs. I choose to sing and well, I won! The video is on my Insta stories here.

The 23rd …

Loxion Kulca 20th Anniversary – SAFW

I made it to SAFW after a 2-year hiatus. I was super excited about attending the show; excited to see what had changed, how SAFW made use of their sponsors, the setup  [another blog for another day]…

Nonetheless, I was there for the Loxion Kulca 20 year anniversary show. A while back I wrote I blog post on the Come Back Kids to look out for, brands that I spotted making numerous appearances on social media, well… That blog was no lie. Loxion Kulca has such a rich history and it was a joy to watch how they celebrated their …

Girls Only Road Trip to Nelspruit

Mpumalanga and Swaziland have been on my bucket list for a while now. And although it is possible to go to these places alone cost effectively, I also wanted to cross off one thing on my bucket list; a girls only road trip. When a friend mentioned both could be done with this trip, I was sold. But this was a girl’s trip with a twist, I only knew 2 out of the 8 girls I went on the road trip with. We cyber met in a WhatsApp group 2 months before so this would be interesting.

Or was it?

After a lot of back …

My Short Trip to Limpopo

So there I was on a Saturday afternoon with tons to do on my to-do list. I was actually on my way out; dressed and ready to leave the house when my dad suggested we go to Limpopo. I surprisingly said yes and we were off. The plan was to leave on Saturday and come back on Sunday but looking at my luggage bag, you could’ve sworn I was leaving for the week. I pack 4 outfits; just in case it’s cold, just in case it’s hot, just in case it’s very hot and just in case it’s very, very hot.

The Global Citizen Festival – Seeing Beyoncé

The day finally came… The day my sister and I dreamt of for a very long time. Big sis, Beyoncé came to us, but first…

IMG_9347

Getting to the stadium was seamless and easy, we didn’t experience that many road blocks and we easily found a parking spot by the gate. The walk from where we parked to the entrance was the longest ever, but it was worth it was filled with a buzz of excitement and lots of fashion statements. …

Flying Fish #FlavourOdyssey

I finally got to see Masego live… Just kidding! I wish.

But how I got tickets to The Flying Fish #FlavourOdyssey Festival was pretty damn cool.

As soon as they dropped the news about Masego coming to SA again, my friend Tebo tagged me on their Tweet and I was obviously beyond myself. I responded directly on Flying Fish’s tweet asking them not to make us “work” for our tickets. They said nothing so I moved on with life.

The Comeback Kids

During my hiatus, I’ve been looking and observing fashion trends. I am in awe.  We live in exciting times. Every trend I’ve ever wanted to explore as a kid but didn’t get the chance to (because mom had the last word with her money), is coming back. From fanny packs, to track suit 2 pieces, and those “Spice Girl” sneakers. Brands are looking at old skool albums and bringing back everything as it is. In fact, when it comes to sneakers, the “uglier” looking, the more in trendier you are. The most exciting part for me is seeing that label I used to wear …

10 Day Silence and Meditation in Worcester

19 – 30th September 2018; I finally got the courage to do it. 10 days in noble silence and an intense meditation course called Dhamma Pataka – Vipasanna Meditation in Worcester, Western Cape. At first, this trip sounded like a holiday; a calm retreat, up a mountain in the Western Cape but after I saw the schedule (again), I realized this was a workcation for the soul. Something my soul needed and has been yearning for this whole year.

*SPOILER ALERT – This post is longer than usual and the photos are raw. Taken in a rush; before and after the course

The Adventure Called; Gold Reef City

One random day, myself and my girls sat during lunch and thought; when last did we play. As in, let our hair down and forget adulting. Then we thought; play = rides = theme park. Gold Reef City. The last time I went to Gold Reef City was in 2016; after a race, we got a complimentary entry so we made the best of it. It wasn’t fun though, hundreds of other runners got the complimentary entry so we spent more time queuing for rides more than being on the rides. We wanted to do this differently, I mean why live for weekends …

#ThrowBack Graduation Swag

I’m fresh from a graduation ceremony, my sister attained her honors in Marketing and Management (yassss girl!) and I also graduated last year with my Diploma in Media Practices, majoring in Public Relations (had to throw that in). One thing I always find fascinating is the choice of outfits on this big day. Lately graduates have more freedom of expression. Most go all out; new shoes, new dress, hiring make-up artists. This day means a lot,so why the heck not.

Once upon a time graduation outfits were the equivalent of interview outfits. Besides the beautiful cultural wear we see at graduation …
