Road to Comrades Marathon 2026
June 3, 2026
View PostTwenty-Nineteen. Where the f*** do I even begin to describe this year? Like many others would say; this year almost destroyed me but I had to make a choice, do I really want to be destroyed or do I want to make it. My stubborn will to live left me with no choice except, I will make it. Not only will I make it but I will be victorious, somehow.
Letting Go
One of the hardest lessons this year was letting go, in fact, it was a major theme throughout. I walked into the year knowing that I was carrying too much baggage. Too …
The moment I saw the line up, I knew it would be an important groove to attend. The line-up had artists that I love but I missed their one-man shows this year. The main act Tom Misch was another reason I was amendment on going to Music Is King [MIK], he was making his way back to South Africa for the second time. When the day finally came I was beyond excited; outfit and make-up was planned and ready.
The tickets noted that the concert would start at …

This road trip, like most road trip was a spontaneous decision. It all started with a status update from a friend saying that she “sbwl” a road trip and two of us responded to her. A few hours after responding to her, we were already discussing logistics and where the road would lead to. What seemed like a joke, quickly turned into something that was really happening.
Haarties or Mpumalanga shot’left
The argument was whether we go to a place that’s two hours away or six hours away. I suggested two hours away because it was a short trip but as the Universe would …
I went for my first jog today since the Soweto Marathon. While I was running I could still remember every little detail. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this experience, I had prepared to have fun and enjoy the journey. But I won’t lie, it was not all fun and games.
3rd November 2019, the day was finally here. After months of preparation [and drama], the Soweto Marathon was here. But it actually started on the 1st November with a cru culture event called Soweto Bridging The …
It’s that time of the year again where all roads lead to the Soweto Marathon. Runners from all walks of life entered the race for different reasons; from wanting to obtain Comrades Marathon qualifiers, to those who have already qualified and use this process to train and those want to push their personal best. I’m in between getting a personal best and getting a qualifier.
So far, the road to Soweto Marathon preparation has been a grueling but fun process. Grueling because of how …
On the 30th, I woke up high and joyous. The memories from the previous day lingered on and I woke up to a gang of messages and missed calls. I woke up, did my regular prayer and meditation (in tears of joy). I MADE IT! I was 30, on the 30th. I wanted this day to be quiet and intentional, so I spent most of the day by myself setting intentions and goals for the year and the decade. I also spent the day counting my blessings. Before we get into the 30 Reflections; here’s how I spent my birthday.
I turned 30 on the 30th of September #CrownYear. A week later, I’m still on a high from all the love I received. Especially on my birthday lunch. The plan was to go to Bali for my crown year but I saw it better fit to spend it with my loved ones; people who’ve held my hand through the first half of the year. People who’ve been there for through the good and tough times. And I don’t regret my decision because my birthday month (and birthday lunch) was magical. It was everything I imagined it to be.
The vibe, the people, the music, …

The Unfuck Yourself Retreat is an annual 4-day event by The Goddess Academy, a Facebook group where women share uncommon knowledge about Goddesshood. The group was founded by life coach and author of the bestselling books; The Goddess Bootcamp and The Goddess Mojo Bootcamp and Founder of The Goddess Academy, Kagiso Msimango.
The event was in its third year this year, there were 22 women attending the event this year. I went to the first one and I was never ready for this one. This year’s theme was Love the Body You Have. The retreat was perfect timing, not only was …
If August 2019 is anything to go by, what a time to be alive! This month has been a beautiful indication how representation matters and when it shows up, it’s celebrated because it brings confidence. This is a feel good post, I hope it melts your heart as much it did mine.
Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi
A lot of people had lost hope when it comes to beauty pageants, Miss South Africa included. For the longest time beauty pageants seemed to represent a certain perception of beauty and nothing beyond that. This year, the organizers of Miss SA finally heard us and had …
I spent the last three months on a #90DaysOfGratitude challenge and WOW! it has been a roller coaster and a half. I had a strong nudge to take on this challenge for spiritual reasons and I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I wasn’t ready for how challenging it would be.
Day 1 – 30; Surrender
When the journey began in May, I took a huge leap of faith and resigned from my job, without a plan. The two month notice was the longest two months because my grandma and spiritual teacher practically begged me to heal from the issues leading to my …
